123 Agency presents:
Bad Pony + Hello Bones + Chymes
Entry Requirements: 18+
There might be something about growing up in a nation essentially founded on a prison labour colony that instills in a band a sense of tirelessness. Whether it's heritage, hope or insanity that fuels Bad Pony, they simply don't seem to stop.
Since releasing their debut EP 'Limbo' in 2015, the Sydney-based quintet has independently released four self-produced singles, all with national radio success. On the touring front, this premier indie outfit have clocked up thousands of kilometres with three national tours since 2015 and an appearance at world-renown Music Matters, Singapore 2016. The boys launched themselves into 2017 with a showcase at Canadian Music Week and a successful run of Sofar Sounds shows in the US and have just been announced as part of the Australian line-up at the world’s biggest music conference, SXSW 2018 in Austin, Texas.
Whilst even the most fanatical marathon runner would at least take a moment to stretch out their aching hamstrings, Bad Pony aren’t showing any signs of slowing down. The band will hit the road to round-off a huge 2017, which includes performances at Australian Music Week on November 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Starting in Sydney and moving along the East Coast, the band will include Hobart in the eight-date run and will wrap up at Summerfest in Taree on December 2.
After inking a publishing deal with Perfect Pitch Publishing as well as a booking deal with 123 Agency in 2016, the band have their sophomore EP, 'Deficiency' in the cooker and launched into this year with the release of their explosive single of the same title with a premiere on Rolling Stone Australia, airplay on Triple J and a successful national run of shows that saw them play to packed-out rooms across Australia.

Bad Pony has to be the hardest working band in Australia. Since releasing their debut EP 'Limbo' in 2015, the Sydney based five piece hasn't stopped. In 2016, they released three self-produced singles independently, all with national success on radio. They embarked on three Australian tours and had their first international music festival appearance at Music Matters in Singapore. Bad Pony have recently signed a publishing deal with Perfect Pitch Publishing as well as a booking deal with 123 Agency. 2017 is set to be another big year as Bad Pony prepares to release their sophomore EP 'Deficiency' and take their award winning live show on a US, Canadian and Australian tour.
Music producer Cameron Taylor and songwriter Kiersten Nyman have pricked up the ears of music fans far and wide with their homespun and tender EP. Chymes have shown their instinctive and rare ability to draw a listener into their own intimate world. Full of gently flirtatious beats and haunting lyrics, their unique brand of electronic-pop has captured an audience around the globe with their first singles 'Oracle' and 'Clouds', and now their debut EP ‘Grow’. After the pair met working together on another project, they came to realise both their writing styles and voices complimented each other and they shared a connective love for similar styles of music. They soon experimented with each other’s contrastingly dark lyrics and playful innocent sounds and an entire EP aptly titled ‘Grow’ bloomed out of the bedroom-studio project.
From a converted spot on Triple J's unearthed rotation, to fan made videos of their lyrics translated into Spanish, hailed as "mesmerising" (Indie Shuffle), with "hints of Purity Ring with its eerie vocals and captivating soundscapes" (Howl & Echoes) and a "new talent" (The Music Ninja). Chymes are a fresh new sound in the fertile Australian independent music scene.
